The Konza Technopolis Development Authority (KoDTA) officials Anna Wafula and Kenneth Kibet visited Lukenya University on Tuesday, 16th March 2021. The officials held interactive sessions with students and staff members regarding available opportunities in innovation and technology at KoTDA. This was the beginning of a collaborative journey between Lukenya University and KoDTA. Students and staff shared their aspirations, and welcomed greater engagements with KoDTA for the benefit of society. Some of the aspirations include: Creation of innovation hubs to tap creative ideas from students for commercializing, collaboration in research and commercializing of research outputs such as in the cassava project at the University among other projects, conferences and webinars, business incubators, industrial attachments for students, employment opportunities for graduates, possibility of setting up a University branch of Excellence within the Konza Technopolis, collaborating with the International Association of Science Parks (IASP) in Masters and PhD programmes, and taking advantage of the special economic zone that will be created within Konza Technopolis.

Additionally, the University will be involved in the Israel Challenge, Health Challenge, Work Challenge, among other competitions hosted by KoTDA
