The annual L.U cultural week for the year 2020 is going on, as the 4th edition, the students and staff are taking lead in a colorful week marked by highlighting the various cultures that are present in the university community.

The management led by the Vice CHANCELLOR, Prof. Constantine Nyamboga fully supports and recognizes the cultural week as an important activity that fosters unity among the diverse University community and exposes students to the diverse cultures in our African setting.

Events included; Sports,Traditional Dances, traditional food, traditional music, traditional dress, customs and norms and other genres of music and dance. Communities represented in this year’s events; Luo, Akamba, Luhya, Kikuyu, Ameru, Swahili, Kisii, Masaai, Somali, Giriama, Nandi, Kipsigis, and others.

The week culminated in the Saturday 7th March 2020 finale, where sporting competitions, traditional foods, beauty pageants, and dances will be held.

Lukenya University's main campus located at Mtito Andei in Makueni county held its Inaugural Graduation on Friday 15th November 2019. The ceremony was presided by the University Chancellor, Mr. Harris Mule.

According to Lukenya University VC, Prof. Constantine Nyamboga, over 400 graduands were conferred with degrees, diplomas, and certificates in various fields. The graduation marked a milestone of 4 years since the Private university opened its doors in November 2015.

Our Lukenya University School based campus football and volleyball teams travelled to Kambu Main campus and played against the hosts. Football ended at a 2-2 draw while in volleyball Athi River campus beat the hosts three sets to one.

Lukenya university hosted the divisional celebrations on Jamhuri Day. Assistant county commissioner Jonah Towett was the guest of honor.

Prof. Jan Zahorik of the University of West Bohemia (ZČU'), Pilsen (Czech Republic) visited Lukenya University as part of the memorandum of understanding signed last year allowing Lukenya University to send students and staff to Czech Republic and to receive students from West Bohemia as part of the exchange program.

A joint proposal of KSH. 250 million to European Union to fund activities and conduct research will be submitted.

It is with great delight that I join Lukenya University today in celebrating their award of Letter of Interim Authority. This is an important milestone for our nation because we now have in our midst, yet another institution that will expand opportunities for university education.
