This week, Lukenya University is proud to host over 400 Village-Based Agronomists (VBAs) from Makueni, Kitui, Tharaka Nithi, and Embu counties for a 5-day intensive training programme at our Mtito Andei campus.
In collaboration with our partners — AGRA, Farm Africa, and CIFOR-ICRAF (Agroforestry) — this initiative aims to equip frontline agronomists with practical, climate-smart, and sustainable farming solutions to uplift smallholder farmers’ livelihoods across the dryland regions of Kenya.
The training will cover:

✅ Climate-resilient practices
✅ Soil and water conservation
✅ Agroforestry techniques
✅ Market access and post-harvest strategies
